BIOGRAPHY

Andrew Coscoran represented Ireland in the 1,500 metres at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

At Tokyo 2020 he reached the semi-finals, finishing 10th in his heat with a time of 3:35.84 — a result that exceeded expectations given his seeding. At Paris 2024 he did not advance from the heats. Coscoran grew up in Balbriggan and joined Star of the Sea AC as a teenager. He was awarded an athletics scholarship to Florida State University at 18 but returned to Ireland, studied at Dublin City University, and found his best form training with Dublin Track Club under coach Feidhlim Kelly.

He is Ireland’s national record holder in the 1,500 metres outdoors (3:30.42) and holds multiple Irish indoor records in the 1,500 metres, mile, 3,000 metres and 5,000 metres.
