Andrew Smith
Rugby Sevens
BIOGRAPHY
Once the IRFU said James Topping could call-up a XVs player from each province to bolster his Olympic squad, Smith was one of his two picks, arriving back a week before Hugo Keenan. He played schools rugby for St. Michaels, was part of the Leinster academy, played U20s international, and won an AIL title with Clontarf in 2022 while also emerging as a Sevens star. He was part of the team that secured Ireland’s place in Paris by winning the inaugural European Games’ title in Poland last June, but had since gone on to play XVs for Connacht.
