Brendan Boyce finished tenth in the 50 kilometres race walk at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the best Olympic result of his career and the best by an Irish race walker at the distance.
A three-time Olympian, he made his debut at London 2012, placing 26th in the 50 kilometres walk, and improved to 19th at Rio 2016.
Boyce set a personal best of 3:48:13 when finishing fifth at the 2019 European Race Walking Championships, and placed sixth at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha. He is from Letterkenny, County Donegal.
