BIOGRAPHY

Susie was riding from a young age (her mum is a vet and a breeder) and, from 2012 to 2017 represented Ireland in six European Junior Championships, winning team gold and team bronze. In 2014 she relocated from Northern Ireland to Maidwell, Northamptonshire to train and work for Piggy March and won Junior European Team gold at Bishops Burton. In 2021 she partnered John the Bull to 3rd place in the CCI4* in Blenheim. In 2022 she set up her own yard near March, was part of the team who finished fifth at the World Championships and secured Olympic qualification, and she also won the CCI4* in Little Downham on Wellfields Lincoln, who she calls ‘Slinky’.

Susie has competed in Badminton, Burghley, and Luhmulen since stepping up to the five-star level. She was badly injured competing in Blair Castle a year ago – concussion, broken ribs, punctured lungs, and liver laceration – but recovered fully and took third in the CCI4* in Kronenberg seven months later.
