BIOGRAPHY

Heike Holstein has represented Ireland in four Olympic Games. She made her Olympic debut at the 1996 Atlanta Games, finishing 26th in individual dressage aboard Ballaseyr Devereaux.

At the 2000 Sydney Olympics, she placed 42nd with Royale 42, and at the 2004 Athens Olympics, she secured 50th place riding Welt Adel. Heike took 13 years out of international competition to have her family so the 2019 Nations Cup in Aachen was her first appearance for Ireland in 14 years.

She went on to represent Ireland at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, finishing 37th in individual dressage with her home-bred mare, Sambuca.

Beyond her Olympic appearances, Holstein has had a distinguished career, including competing at the 1998 World Equestrian Games in Rome and the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez. She has been crowned Irish National Dressage Champion 13 times.
