BIOGRAPHY

Phil Healy was part of the Irish women's 4x400 metres relay team that finished fourth at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in a national record of 3:19.90, 0.18 seconds away from a bronze medal.

At Tokyo 2020 she became the first Irish woman to contest three track events at the same Olympic Games, competing in the 200 metres, the 400 metres and the mixed 4x400 metres relay. The relay team reached the final, the first Irish relay team to do so.

Known as the Bandon Bullet, Healy is from County Cork and is a member of Bandon AC. She came to athletics relatively late, focusing on the sport fully from the age of 17. In 2016 a video of her anchor leg at the Irish University 4x400 metres Championships, in which she closed an 80 metre deficit, was watched around the world. She set the Irish 200 metres record in 2018 and holds a master's degree in enterprise computer software.
