John ‘Jack’ McCarthy

Jack McCarthy was a member of the Irish football team at the 1924 Paris Olympic Games, playing in both matches: the historic 1-0 victory over Bulgaria on 28 May 1924 and the quarter-final against the Netherlands on 2 June, which ended 2-1 after extra time. A Bohemians player, McCarthy was part of a starting XI that included five Bohemians players against Bulgaria.
