Lizzie Murphy was the first past pupil of St Kilian's German School to play senior international hockey.
She travelled to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games as a reserve goalkeeper for the Ireland women's team, which finished tenth.
Murphy grew up in Dublin and attended St Kilian's from kindergarten to Leaving Certificate. She took up hockey at 14 at Hermes Hockey Club and went on to play for Hermes-Monkstown and Loreto before moving to Germany with Grossflottbeker HC in Hamburg. She was capped for Ireland at the 2019 and 2021 European Championships.
