Sarah Lavin holds the Irish national record for the 100 metres hurdles at 12.62 seconds, set in the semi-final at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest. She won bronze at the 2023 European Games, her first senior international medal. She reached the semi-finals at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where she ran 12.69.
At Paris 2024 she carried the Irish flag at the opening ceremony on the River Seine alongside Shane Lowry. She also competed in the 100 metres hurdles at Tokyo 2020, finishing seventh in her heat.
Lavin is from Limerick and has been a member of Emerald AC since the age of seven. She won silver at the European Under-20 Championships in 2013 and attended University College Dublin as an Ad Astra scholar, studying physiotherapy. In 2026 she won her 11th outdoor national title in the 100 metres hurdles.
