Paul Pollock finished 32nd in the marathon at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in 2:16:24, at the time the third-fastest finishing position recorded by an Irish runner in an Olympic marathon, and the first Irishman home ahead of team-mates Kevin Seaward and Mick Clohisey.
He also ran the marathon at Tokyo 2020, finishing 70th in 2:27:48.
Pollock first competed at major championship level in 2004, representing Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Bendigo, Australia, where he finished fourth in the 1,500 metres. He won the Irish national marathon title on his marathon debut. He is from Holywood, County Down.
