BIOGRAPHY

Sarah has competed on over 60 horses for Ireland since 2002. She started out with the Ward Union Hunt and Howth Pony Club before taking to eventing at age 18. She rose to 15th on the world rankings in 2013, and her individual fifth was vital to Ireland winning silver at the 2018 World Equestrian Games. Her brilliant cross-country performance led Ireland’s comeback to finish fourth at last year’s Europeans, and Sarah and Action Lady have been third (Ballindenisk) and 10th (Kronenberg and Bicton) in their last three four-star events. Sarah made her Olympic debut in Tokyo where she finished 36th individually and helped Ireland to eighth place. A qualified lab technician, and mother of one, she works fulltime with horses, running Stellor Sport Horses in Batterstown, Co. Meath with her husband Nikki Potterton.
