Michael Robson won EuroHockey Championship II gold in Dublin in 2023 and FIH Series Finals silver, and competed for Ireland at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where the team finished tenth.
He travelled to Rio 2016 as a reserve, when Ireland's men's hockey team made their first Olympic appearance, and was one of only three players from that squad still in the programme in 2024.
A central midfielder, Robson made his senior debut in 2014 and had won 162 caps by the time of the Paris Games. He played professionally in Germany with CHTC Hamburg from 2017 alongside his younger brother Callum, who also plays for Ireland, returning to Annadale HC in 2021. He studied finance at Queen's University Belfast and qualified as an accountant before putting that career on hold to play professionally. He is from Holywood, County Down.
