Nicolas Roche finished fifth overall at the 2013 Vuelta a Espana and sixth in 2010, and won stages at the race in 2013 and 2015 during a 17-year professional career.
He competed at four consecutive Olympic Games in the road race, finishing 63rd at Beijing 2008, 89th at London 2012, 29th at Rio 2016 for his best Olympic result, and 75th at Tokyo 2020.
Roche won the Irish National Road Race Championships in 2009 and 2016 and the Irish National Time Trial Championships in 2007 and 2016.
Nicolas's father is Stephen Roche, the Moscow 1980 Olympian who won the Tour de France, the Giro d'Italia and the World Championship in 1987, while his cousin is fellow Olympian Dan Martin
