Sarah Healy

BIOGRAPHY

Two time Olympian, Sarah Healy established herself as a standout talent early in her career, breaking numerous Irish underage records and winning European medals at U18, U20, and U23 levels. At just 20 years old, she made her Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020.

Sarah broke the Irish senior indoor records for both the 1500m and 3000m in the 2024 season. She also set a personal best in the outdoor 800m with a time of 2:00.86. At the 2023 World Championships, she narrowly missed a spot in the 1500m final but set an Irish U23 record during the event.

Sarah achieved a significant milestone on July 7, 2024, at the Diamond League in Paris, where she clocked 3:57.49 for the 1500m—shaving over two seconds off her lifetime best. This performance positioned her as the second-fastest Irish woman of all time over the distance, behind Ciara Mageean.

She finished 13th in the women’s 1,500 at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

In March 2025 she reached the highest point of her still young career by winning the gold medal in the 3,000m at the European Indoor Athletics Championships.

Academically, Sarah holds a law degree from University College Dublin (UCD). She relocated to Wigan in mid-2023 to join the M11 Track Club, a highly-regarded training group that includes Olympic 800m silver medallist Keely Hodgkinson.
