BIOGRAPHY

Daire Lynch secured a bronze Olympic medal in the Men’s Double Sculls (M2x) at the 2024 Paris Olympics alongside partner Philip Doyle. The duo had previously qualified for the Olympics by earning bronze at the 2023 World Rowing Championships in Belgrade.

The medal was the pinnacle of a year of enormous success for Lynch and Doyle, who won gold at World Cup III in Poznań and bronze at World Cup I in Varese. Lynch also claimed gold at the 2020 European U23 Rowing Championships with Ronan Byrne and bronze at the Senior European Championships the same year. He has won five Irish national championships—four in single sculls and one in pairs.

Lynch began rowing in 2015 during his third year of secondary school. He attended Yale University from 2017 to 2022, studying economics and competing in collegiate rowing.
