Fiona Murtagh won bronze in the women's coxless four at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games alongside Aifric Keogh, Emily Hegarty and Eimear Lambe, Ireland's first Olympic medal in women's rowing.
She won European bronze in the four in 2020 and European silver the following year. Paired with Aifric Keogh in the women's pair from 2023, she finished fourth at the World Rowing Championships and secured Olympic qualification. The pair placed eighth at Paris 2024 after winning the B final.
Murtagh followed her twin brother Alan into rowing in 2009 and took up a rowing scholarship at Fordham University in New York. A national title in 2019 earned her a call-up to the Irish team in 2020. She is from Moycullen, County Galway.
