BIOGRAPHY
Imogen Magner represented Ireland as part of the women’s coxless four at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where the crew of Emily Hegarty, Natalie Long, Eimear Lambe and Magner finished 7th overall, winning the B final in a time of 6:34.74.
Magner spent five years living in Barcelona as a teenager while competing on the junior international tennis circuit, attending the Elite Tennis Academy there. It was on a canal in Barcelona that she first encountered rowing. She joined the UK’s Start Rowing programme in 2018 and was initially part of the British rowing development programme. She is eligible to represent Ireland through her paternal grandfather. She made her first appearance for Ireland in 2023 and qualified for Paris at the final Olympic qualification regatta in Lucerne in May 2024, when the four pipped Denmark by 0.79 seconds to secure their place.
