BIOGRAPHY
John Farrelly was a travelling reserve for the Irish bobsleigh team at the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics – Ireland’s debut at the Winter Games.
Two Irish two-man sleds competed at Albertville, with Pat McDonagh and Terry McHugh finishing 32nd and Gerry Macken and Malachy Sheridan finishing 38th. Farrelly. He came to the bobsleigh programme from a background as a discus thrower and had connections to the Athboy and Rathmore areas of Co. Meath.
