BIOGRAPHY
Johnny Lynch represented Ireland in the men’s hockey tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Lynch was named as a travelling reserve for the Games but came into the squad as a replacement after Nick Page sustained a hand injury in Ireland’s opening match against Belgium, going on to feature in subsequent pool matches. A versatile, counter-attacking defender, Lynch is from Lisburn and plays club hockey with Lisnagarvey, one of Ireland’s most decorated clubs. He made his Irish senior debut in 2022 and had accumulated 41 caps by the time of the Paris Games.
He was part of the Lisnagarvey squad that won two domestic and one European trophy in the 2023-24 season. He graduated in Sport and Exercise Science from Ulster University in 2023.
