Sean Murray captained Ireland in the men's hockey tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where Ireland finished tenth.
A central midfielder, Murray made his senior debut in October 2015 and went on to win 140 caps. He plays professionally for Gantoise in Ghent, winning the Belgian Hockey League in 2023 and 2024, and at club level in Ireland was part of the Lisnagarvey team that won the Men's Irish Hockey League and EY Champions Trophy in 2015-16.
He was in the Ireland squad at the 2018 World Cup in Bhubaneswar. He attended Wallace High School and is from Lisburn, County Antrim.
