Eve McMahon finished 13th of 43 competitors in the ILCA 6 dinghy class at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, becoming Ireland's youngest ever Olympic sailor at 20. Since Paris, she has established herself as one of the finest ILCA 6 sailors in the world.
In 2025 she became the first Irish sailor - male or female - to be ranked world number one by World Sailing, and won bronze at the ILCA 6 World Championships in Qingdao, China - the first Irish female sailor to medal at a senior world championship. In 2026 she won the Under-23 European title, finished fourth overall at the Senior European Championships, and medalled at all three Sailing Grand Slam events she contested: gold in Palma, silver in Hyères and bronze at San Pedro on the waters set to host the LA28 Olympic sailing.
She also successfully defended her ILCA 6 Under-21 World Championship title in 2024 and won the 2025 Rising Star award at the Olympic Sport Awards. She grew up in Howth, County Dublin, in a sailing family, starting courses at Howth Yacht Club at the age of seven, and studied International Commerce at University College Dublin on an Ad Astra scholarship. She sails with Howth Yacht Club.
