Kelly Murphy rode in the Irish women's team pursuit quartet at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the first time Ireland had qualified a squad in the event. The quartet set a national record of 4:12.447 in qualifying and placed ninth, alongside Lara Gillespie, Mia Griffin and Alice Sharpe.
She won bronze in the team pursuit at the 2021 European Track Championships and has placed sixth in the individual pursuit at European level. On the road she has won four national time trial titles.
Murphy completed a doctorate in neuroscience before taking up cycling full time in 2018. Both her parents are Irish, from Roscommon and Dublin, and she is based in Birmingham.
