Megan Armitage

Megan Armitage became the first Irish woman to compete in Olympic road cycling in 30 years when she rode the women's road race at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, finishing 35th over 158 kilometres.

She was held up behind a crash on the Montmartre loop with 48 kilometres remaining.

Armitage was a marathon runner before turning to cycling. She is from Shinrone, County Offaly.
