Lara Gillespie is a 2025 World Champion in the Elimination Race on the track. The versatile rider has a stacked resumé including world level podium results in both the track and on the road. She rode three track events at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games - the team pursuit, the madison and the omnium - and was the last Team Ireland athlete to compete at the Games, finishing tenth in the omnium on the closing day.
In the team pursuit, Ireland's first qualification in the event, the quartet set a national record of 4:12.447 in qualifying and placed ninth. She finished 11th in the madison with Alice Sharpe.
She is from Enniskerry, County Wicklow, and previously won a silver medal for Team Ireland at the EYOF.
