Sanita Pušpure was a double World Champion in the women's single sculls, winning gold at the 2018 World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv and again at Linz-Ottensheim in 2019. She also won European gold in 2019 and silver in 2020.
She competed in the single sculls at three Olympic Games. At London 2012 she was Ireland's only rower, placing 13th. She placed 13th again at Rio 2016. At Tokyo 2020 she did not finish the competition owing to illness.
