BIOGRAPHY

Colin Lowth competed in the men’s 200 metres butterfly at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, finishing 37th in the heats with a personal best of 2:03.91.

From Dublin and a member of Cormorant Swimming Club, coached by Therese Beegan, Lowth studied Business at Trinity College Dublin from 1996 to 2000, qualifying for the Sydney Games in his final year at college.

He swam in the same heat as a fifteen-year-old American named Michael Phelps, who finished fifth and would go on to become the most decorated Olympian in history.
