BIOGRAPHY

Paul Quirke competed in the Shot Put at the Barcelona 1992 Games.

Quirke won 13 Irish senior national titles across shot put, discus and the 56lb weight for height and held the Irish national shot put record for 30 years.

He also represented Ireland at the 1993 World Championships in Stuttgart, won silver in the shot put at the 1983 European Cup and took bronze at the 1984 AAA Senior Championships.

Outside senior international competition he also won bronze medals at the World Masters Games in 2006 and at the European Masters Championships in 2007 in discus.
