BIOGRAPHY

Timothy Cockram represented Ireland in the men’s hockey tournament at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.

A defender from Belfast, Cockram attended Wallace High School and studied Law and Accounting at Queen’s University Belfast, graduating in 2006 before completing further legal qualifications at Loughborough and the Institute of Professional Legal Studies. He made his senior Ireland debut in 2004 and went on to accumulate 192 caps across 12 years of international hockey – among the most capped men in Irish hockey history. He played his entire club career with Lisnagarvey HC, where he was a first team regular from 2000 to 2018, with a season at Loughborough Students in 2006-07.

After retiring from playing he became assistant coach of the hockey programme at Wallace High School and a youth coach at Lisnagarvey. He subsequently joined the Ulster Hockey Board.
