BIOGRAPHY

Paul ‘Junior’ McKee competed in the men’s 4×400 metres relay at two Olympic Games – Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004.

From Belfast and a member of Beechmount Harriers, McKee was one of Ireland’s finest 400 metre runners of his era, setting an Irish national record of 45.58 seconds in 2003 and winning bronze in the 4×400 metres relay at the 2003 World Indoor Championships in Birmingham alongside Robert Daly, Gary Ryan and David Gillick.

He also represented Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games. He broke the Irish outdoor 400 metre record twice within the space of three days in 2002, and was a key member of Irish relay teams across both Olympic cycles.
