BIOGRAPHY

Phillip Collins competed in the men’s 4,000 metres individual pursuit at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games at the Stone Mountain Park velodrome, finishing 16th in qualifying in 4:41.207.

Based in Manchester, his achievement lay in simply qualifying for an event confined to just eighteen track cyclists. His participation came in the same event in which Italian Andrea Collinelli set a world record of 4:19.699 in his qualifying round and reduced it further to 4:19.153 in the quarter-final.
