BIOGRAPHY

Stephen Spratt competed in the 100 kilometres team time trial at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games.

From Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, Spratt was the winner of the 1986 Rás Tailteann – the most prestigious victory in Irish amateur cycling – leading a Carrick Wheelers team that also won the county team prize for Tipperary.

At the Olympic Games, the Irish team finished 19th in 2:07:69.7 – the fastest time ever recorded by an Irish team in the event.
