BIOGRAPHY

Zoe Hyde represented Ireland alongside Alison Bergin in the women’s double sculls at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, making her Olympic debut.

From Killorglin, Co. Kerry, Hyde began rowing aged 13 at Killorglin Rowing Club but largely set the sport aside during her college years before returning seriously in her final year. The Covid-19 pandemic proved a turning point – the flexibility of working from home allowed her to train more intensively, and what began as a return to a hobby rapidly accelerated into elite competition. She was working as an audit associate at Deloitte, which allowed her to balance her professional career with rowing through a flexible arrangement, when she was called into the Irish senior squad.

She won bronze in the women’s double sculls at the 2022 World Rowing Championships alongside Sanita Puspure and won World Cup II silver that year. She and Alison Bergin formed a new partnership in 2023 and won their heat at the World Rowing Championships in Belgrade before finishing 4th overall – securing Ireland’s Olympic quota. They finished 5th at the European Championships and 4th at the second World Cup regatta in 2024 in the lead-up to Paris.
