James ‘Jim’ Muldoon

Rowing

BIOGRAPHY

Jim Muldoon competed in the men’s coxed four at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games alongside Michael Ryan, Willie Ryan, Christy O’Brien and cox Liam Redmond, finishing 7th overall after winning the little final. A member of the Garda Síochána Boat Club (GSBC), Muldoon was part of a crew that represented the finest senior GSBC eight of the era – a combination that set a new course record at the Ghent international regatta and won the Thames Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta. The coxed four’s 7th place was achieved despite the heartbreak of three crabs in the semi-final that cost them a final place
