BIOGRAPHY

Nathan Timoney represented Ireland alongside Ross Corrigan in the men’s coxless pair at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, reaching the A final and finishing 6th – 6.83 seconds behind gold medallists the Sinkovic brothers of Croatia.

Timoney is from Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh and attended Portora Royal School before studying Business Management at Queen’s University Belfast. He previously played hurling for the Fermanagh senior team before transitioning to rowing. He rows for Enniskillen Royal Boat Club and is part of the Queen’s University Belfast Rowing Academy. He won bronze at the Under-23 World Championships in 2022 and, forming a pair with Ross Corrigan, won bronze at the 2023 World Rowing Championships – Ireland’s first ever heavyweight sweep medal at a World Championship.

He also won silver at the 2024 European Championships with Corrigan. Reaching the Olympic A final in Paris was the culmination of a rapid rise through the sport.
