BIOGRAPHY

Edward ‘Ted’ Ryan competed in the men’s coxed four at the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games alongside Iain Kennedy, David Gray, Pat McDonagh and cox Noel Graham, finishing 11th of 12 boats.

A member of the Garda Siochána Boat Club (GSBC), Ryan was one of the more experienced members of the coxed four crew.

The combination was assembled late in the quadrennial, never fully gelled as a unit, and finished two places short of the targeted 9th position.
