Sharlene Mawdsley anchored the Irish mixed 4x400 metres relay team to gold at the 2024 European Championships and ran on the women's 4x400 metres team that took silver at the same championships.
At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games she was part of the women's 4x400 metres relay team that finished fourth in the final in a national record of 3:19.90. She reached the semi-finals of the individual 400 metres and also ran in the mixed 4x400 metres relay.
She also contributed to a bronze medal for the mixed 4x400 metres relay team at international level. She is from Newport, County Tipperary.
