BIOGRAPHY

Richard O’Shea competed in the men’s Flying Dutchman class at the 1972 Munich Olympic Games alongside Harold Cudmore, finishing 17th.

The Flying Dutchman was described by team manager Peter Gray as an ‘ultra-technical class’ demanding an exceptional degree of boat preparation – a challenge faced by all the Irish sailing crews at Kiel in conditions of light and unpredictable winds.
