BIOGRAPHY

Rob D’Alton competed as crew of the men’s Dragon class at the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games alongside helmsman Eddie Kelliher and Harry Maguire, finishing 20th of 23 boats.

The crew overcame a series of mechanical difficulties with their chartered vessel Akatomba before the regatta began, including a badly twisted mast requiring replacement and a defective rudder needing remedial work. Despite the preparation difficulties, the crew gained valuable experience competing at the highest level of international Dragon class racing.
