Marshall King competed as skipper of the Soling three-person keelboat at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games alongside Dan O’Grady and Garrett Connolly, finishing 16th in a regatta held off Savannah, Georgia.

The Soling was one of the most technical keelboat classes in the Olympic programme, requiring a combination of fleet racing skill and tactical acumen across a multi-race series.
