Ross Corrigan

BIOGRAPHY
Ross Corrigan represented Ireland alongside Nathan Timoney in the men’s coxless pair at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, reaching the A final and finishing 6th. Corrigan is from Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, and attended St Michael’s College before studying chemical engineering at Queen’s University Belfast. He took up rowing in his mid-teens at Portora Boat Club – now Enniskillen Boat Club – after a taster session, having previously played Gaelic football with Kinawley.
He is the first cousin of golfer and fellow Olympian Leona Maguire.
He is a member of a club with a proud Olympic history: Ian Kennedy represented Ireland in the coxless pair at both Montreal 1976 and Moscow 1980, and Derek Holland competed at Atlanta 1996. Corrigan joined the senior high performance programme full-time in 2022 and, despite he and Timoney having known each other since their teens, the pair were only formed that year. They won bronze at the 2023 World Championships in Belgrade – securing Olympic qualification – and silver at the 2024 European Championships before reaching the Paris final.
