Dan O’Grady competed in the Soling three-person keelboat at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games alongside skipper Marshall King and Garrett Connolly, finishing 16th in a regatta held off Savannah, Georgia in extremely challenging weather conditions.

The Soling crew were one of the lightest in the regatta and were under particular pressure in the heavy winds that prevailed.
