BIOGRAPHY

Daina Moorehouse represented Ireland in the women’s 50kg boxing event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Moorehouse began boxing at the age of 11 at Enniskerry Boxing Club alongside her brother Michael, and won her first Irish age-group title in 2015. She won gold and the Best Boxer award at the European Junior Championships in 2017, aged 15, and followed that with European Youth gold in 2018. She won her first Irish national elite title in 2019.

She qualified for Paris 2024 at the final Olympic qualification tournament in Bangkok in June 2024, where wins over opponents from Armenia, Guatemala and Bulgaria secured her place. She grew up in the same town as Katie Taylor, who she has cited as a role model throughout her career.
