BIOGRAPHY

Adam McLean competed in the men’s flyweight boxing at the 1960 Rome Olympic Games, losing his opening bout in a demanding competition held late into the night at the Palazzo della Sport.

The Irish boxing team at Rome trained in preparation at the National Stadium in Dublin, with Belfast-based boxers working with their own coaches, and the Dublin contingent under Olympic coaches Frank Cooper and Michael Coffey.
