BIOGRAPHY

Nathalie Long represented Ireland as part of the women’s coxless four at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where the crew of Emily Hegarty, Long, Eimear Lambe and Imogen Magner finished 7th overall, winning the B final.

Long was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and has Irish grandparents. She moved to Cobh, Co. Cork in 2007, where she initially took up coastal rowing. She later studied diagnostic radiography in London and began classic rowing at university. She rowed full-time from 2018 but missed out on the Tokyo Games due to injury. She won silver at the 2022 European Championships with the women’s four. Qualification for Paris was secured at the final Olympic qualification regatta in Lucerne in May 2024, where the crew pipped Denmark by just 0.79 seconds.
