Stephen Milne represented Ireland in the men’s Star class keelboat sailing at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games alongside helmsman Peter O’Leary, finishing 13th overall.

At Beijing, sailing on Fushan Bay off Qingdao, the Irish pair began promisingly with a top-six finish in their opening race before inconsistent results across the series left them 13th overall.

From Bangor, Co. Down, Milne trained at the Royal Belfast Yacht Club and was the youngest member of the Irish Star class campaign. He and O’Leary won the Star Eastern European Championship in Hyères in 2009.
