BIOGRAPHY

Eilish Flanagan made her Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games, delivering a personal best of 9:34.86 in the heats.

Flanagan’s athletic journey includes a silver medal at the 2019 European U23 Championships and setting a Northern Ireland record of 9:40.68 in May 2021.

She also secured a USA Division II collegiate title while at Adams State University, where she studied alongside her twin sister, Roisin, also a competitive distance runner.

Beyond the Olympics, Flanagan finished sixth in the 3,000 meters steeplechase final at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and contributed to Ireland’s bronze team medal at the 2022 European Cross Country Championships in Turin.

Balancing academics and athletics, Flanagan attended Sacred Heart College in Omagh before earning a scholarship to Adams State University in Colorado
