BIOGRAPHY

Eve McMahon represented Ireland in the ILCA 6 dinghy class at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, finishing 13th overall among 43 competitors. At 20 years old she was Ireland’s youngest ever Olympic sailor.

She grew up in a sailing family in Howth and started sailing courses at Howth Yacht Club at the age of seven, following in the footsteps of her brothers Ewan and Jamie, both competitive sailors. Before competing on the senior circuit, she served as official training partner to both Rio 2016 silver medallist Annalise Murphy and Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Anne-Marie Rindom of Denmark. She qualified for Paris 2024 at her first senior ILCA 6 World Championships in Argentina in January 2024, securing Ireland’s berth with a race to spare. She won a triple crown of major youth titles – two Under-21 World Championships and one European – and retained her Under-21 World Championship in Portugal just weeks before the Games.

She carried the Olympic Flame when it arrived in Marseille at the start of its journey to the Opening Ceremony. She studied International Commerce at University College Dublin on an Ad Astra scholarship and was named UCD Sportsperson of the Year in 2024.
