BIOGRAPHY

Willie Duggan competed in the men’s middleweight boxing at the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games, entering the ring against Romanian Vasile Tiță – the ‘Prince of Obor’ – as the ‘Crumlin Ghost’. Tiță, who was later knocked out by future world heavyweight champion Floyd Patterson in the middleweight final, was awarded the bout after Duggan was disqualified in round three.
