BIOGRAPHY

Alexander Wright has represented Ireland at two Olympic Games, Rio 2016 where he finished 46th in the 20km walk and DNF’d in the 50km walk; and Tokyo 2020 where he came 29th in the 50km walk.

London-born Alex, whose grandfather is from Tyrone, booked his place early for Tokyo with his 1:20:50 PB in La Coruna, Spain in 2019.

He was 10th in the 2018 Europeans Championships and his sixth place led Ireland to a European team bronze in 2017.
