BIOGRAPHY

Jack Doyle competed in the individual and team showjumping at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, riding Hardly, qualifying for the final rounds in what Chef d’Equipe Billy Ringrose described as a ‘creditable performance over a very difficult series of courses’, before finishing 20th in the individual final with 24.75 penalties.

The Irish showjumping team at Seoul was the first all-professional team to represent Ireland at the Olympics, following the IOC’s decision in 1986 to allow professional riders.

Following the conclusion of a succesful riding career, Doyle went on to coach the next generation of showjumping athletes.
